Our Summer Print Issue features a profile on Sam Wright, a chef with Meals on Wheels of Syracuse.

Also in the issue read a special guest column by Syracuse University students completing a course in Food Studies called “Feeding the City: Urban Food Systems.” Their work aided in the efforts in a new sustainability workshop series offered this year by Wilder Compound at 601 Tully and the Southwest Community Farm.

Our full Summer Issue will be out this weekend or you can download a full pdf here.

Join Us in Our New Storytelling Series

The staff at The Stand is also gearing up for a new summer storytelling series because we believe that each of us has a compelling story to tell.

The mission of our new Family Storytelling Series is to spotlight family life in Syracuse’s Salt City. The project will train participating families on how to use digital cameras and storytelling techniques, allowing them to tell their own story over the summer. Our first meeting will be held in June and the project will continue through August with a final event featuring all participants’ work on view to the public in September.

If you would like to know more or nominate your family, please contact The Stand’s Director Ashley Kang at ashley@mysouthsidestand.com or by calling (315) 882-1054.
