2017 SUN Ruby GALA

Syracuse United Neighbors, Inc. will hold its 40th anniversary gala from 5:30 to 10:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4, at the Marriott Syracuse Downtown Hotel’s Persian Terrace. Tickets for the gala are on sale at eventbrite.com or by contacting SUN’s office at (315) 476-7475.

SUN is a grassroots community organization, established in 1977 and dedicated to improving the lives of families living in the neighborhoods on the South, Southwest and Near West sides of Syracuse. SUN started its organization as a member of the National People’s Action (NPA) organizing network, a coalition of 35 neighborhood groups from over 18 states that work on changing national policies that have a direct effect on local neighborhoods. SUN has been a leader in creating powerful community organizations through issue-based community organizing. The Westside Coalition, Southside Coalition and Skunk City Neighborhood Group still operate today. SUN has been a leader in the fight to hold local, state and national corporations accountable to the communities that they serve and profit. SUN has two full-time staff and operates from headquarters on the South Side of Syracuse.
